Heather Dennen

Dance Department Director

Heather Dennen was born in Staten Island, New York. At age 3 she began taking dance
lessons and fell in love with the art form. From a young age she began expanding her lessons to
become proficient in multiple genres including ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, tap, pointe and
hip hop. At age 7 she began competing in many national dance competitions winning many
awards and top honors.

In 2004 Heather joined Ohio Dance Theatre where she performed many featured roles in ballets
including The Nutcracker, The Firebird, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. In 2006 Heather
joined the cast of Sesame Street Live and toured both nationally and internationally as Zoe in
Super Grover Ready For Action.

Heather began her teaching and choreography career in 2008. Since then she has taught
multiple age levels from toddler to adult in multiple different dance styles. She has worked with
beginner through advanced students and students looking to pursue careers in the arts. She
has choreographed multiple top award winning and choreography award winning numbers for
dance competitions all over the country. She has trained national title winners and many of her
students have gone on to have professional dance careers. She was the assistant choreographer
for the full length productions of Once Upon a Mattress and Oklahoma and she was the chief
choreographer for the full length production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. Heather has
also done choreography for both figure skaters and gymnasts on a nationally competitive level.
Heather is proudly certified at the top levels in dance instruction by Dance Masters of America
and the Cecchetti Council of America.

Heather loves sharing her joy for dance, movement, healthy lifestyles, and self expression. She
loves instilling confidence and an excellent work ethic in all her students.
