Olmsted Performing Arts - What's New

Charlotte's Web and Peter Pan Backstage Tours

Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes when the lights go down or the curtain closed? Now you can experience the magic first hand! OPA is offering backstage tours 90 minutes prior to every performance of both Charlotte's Web and Peter Pan.

Guided group tours will go backstage to meet all of the crewmembers and learn what it is that they do; including the stage manager, crew chief, sound and light technicians. You’ll then get to see just exactly how everything works and what the set looks like up close, plus get the inside scoop on show specific special effects! For Peter Pan, guests will see how the actors are able to fly on stage! While Charlotte's Web guests will learn just how Charlotte spins her web. Finally, there will be a VIP Q&A session with the star performers of each of the productions.

Don’t miss out! Experience the illusions and immerse yourself in the magic of the theatre. Limited availability – reserve your spot today!

Steel Magnolias

Steel Magnolias

Main Stage · October 24-26th & November 1st-3rd

The action is set in Truvy's beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are "anybody" come to have their hair done. Helped by her eager new assistant, the outspoken, wise-cracking Truvy dispenses shampoos and free advice to the women in town. Filled with hilarious repartee and not a few acerbic but humorously revealing verbal collisions, the play moves toward sudden tragedy in the second act. The sudden realization of their mortality affects the others, but also draws on the underlying strength and love which give the play the special quality to make them truly touching, funny and marvelously amiable company in good times and bad.

Auditions

Auditions for Steel Magnolias will be held on August 12-13 from 7:00-10:00 PM. Sign-ups for individual audition slots will open on July 12th.

Babes in Toyland

Auditions

Auditions for Babes in Toyland will be held on Tuesday August 20th. Sign-ups for individual audition slots will open on July 20th.
